Penelope had been roaming around a neighborhood of Los Angeles for a while but the kids at the nearby school were scared of her appearance. One day a lady came along and drove her to the shelter. Her condition was painful to watch as she had no fur and her skin was completely covered with cuts and bruises. She looked so fragile and on the verge of dying that somebody at the shelter asked if she was even alive.
She was bathed and provided with food and water. Then the shelter people put her in a nice warm cage with plenty of food and a cozy blanket. Probably for the first time in months, Penelope slept well. With love and care, Penelope soon began to recover and started looking better within days. Even her fur began to grow back and she regained the strength to run and play with her fellow playmates. Now, she is waiting for a forever home so that she can finally be truly and completely happy with her own family. May be, you can give that to her!
